Laura Lee Haley
Laura Haley created Haley Law Firm, PLLC in 2018. She began her legal career in 1999 as a briefing attorney for Justice John S. Anderson of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, after which she practiced for seven years with Houston commercial-litigation firms. Laura then spent six years as Senior Corporate Litigation Counsel for Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc., where she tried cases, managed outside counsel, and advised the company about document retention, e-discovery, internal investigations, and corporate governance. Before creating Haley Law Firm, PLLC, Laura was a partner with Smith Haley Nobles.
Laura attended the University of Houston, where she earned a B.A. in English and an M.A. in English Literature. She taught English at the University of Houston and Houston Community College, and had her first child, before enrolling at South Texas College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. While in law school, Laura competed as an oralist and brief writer for South Texas’s appellate advocacy teams and had her second child.
Laura has extensive experience in business and commercial litigation, oil and gas litigation, product liability, and personal injury law. She is also well versed in bankruptcy law and has represented clients in bankruptcy proceedings and adversary actions. In addition to writing appellate briefs and motions, she handles trial matters as both a first and second chair, consults with clients and lawyers regarding litigation matters and serves as outside general counsel to several businesses.
